PROJECTS

Videos

This video on the right was the result of the group intern project during my internship at Discovery Communications. The 150 interns were divided into groups of 10 and given a real problem Discovery Communications was facing, and we were to come up with a practical solution. Presentations for the senior executives were held on the last day of our term. The issue we examined was to find a way to bring millenials into the main demographic of Discovery's content. Our solution: augmented reality! Although I am certainly no actress, I helped research, write the script, plan, and present this project.

This hard news package discusses the two sides of liberal studies requirements at Florida State University. To some students, they cause extra financial burden, but faculty argue they are beneficial. I wrote, videoed, and edited this package as my first one in my TV Interviewing and Hosting course taken in the Fall of 2012.

The FSU Greek community, philanthropy, cheerleading, and fun. What does that spell? Cheers for Children! This feature story tells about the hard work each sorority's cheerleading team puts into competing in the annual Cheers for Children philanthropy held by the Theta Chi fraternity at FSU. This feature story was written, videoed, and edited for my TV Interviewing and Hosting course taken in the Fall of 2012 and was aired on local television (WFSU) three times on January 7, 9, and 11, 2013.

Mark Zeigler is a widely renown professor at Florida State University. Taking part in different areas all over the Tallahassee and Seminole community, Zeigler's story is told in this feature package written, videoed, and edited for my TV Interviewing and Hosting course in the Fall of 2012.

This stop motion picture video illustrates how a hand written letter holds a personal insight to communication, despite rapidly advancing technology. A remix of Pride and Prejudice, this video uses 877 still shots that dance along to the theme song of the film. It was created for an english course titled Writing, Editing, Publishing for Online taken in the Fall of 2012.

WordPress Blog: On Interning: http://oninterning.wordpress.com

On Interning  is full of daily blog posts from my internships at both Onboard Media in Miami (summer of 2012) and Discovery Communications in Washington, D.C (summer of 2013). From the difficulties of being in multiple departments, to pleasant surprises and rewarding experiences, it is all included. The purpose of this blog was to document all of the projects I worked on and skills I gained, and the incredible experience  and adventures I had moving on my own to our nation's capital city.
